Analytics QA Manager

The Analytics QA Manager is responsible for leading test initiatives on our software implementation projects, acting as a trusted advisor and SME for Newcomp’s clients.

Tasks Include

  • Analyse business requirements and review design documents to identify testing needs and approach
  • Prepare testing approach/plan and related testing activities
  • Responsible for design and execution of test cases for all phases of testing for assigned projects or releases including (but not limited to) system integration testing, user acceptance testing, performance testing, functional testing, operational testing, and deployment verification testing
  • Manage creation, review and sign-off of testing documentation (e.g. test strategies, plans, schedule, cost estimates, test cases, dashboards, defect logs, test phase closure reports) for assigned area/projects and ensure all test artifacts adhere to testing standards and audit requirements
  • Participate in agile workshop to generate testing approach and perform risk assessment with teams
  • Provide support and input to the development to resolve data issues
  • Use tools and automation to validate data, reports, and processes quickly and efficiently
  • Run quality assurance reports and identify data integrity issues to ensure accurate reporting and data records
  • Elicit, analyze and understand business and data requirements to develop complete test case coverage
  • Work closely with various technology/project teams to understand the business meaning of data, and provide analysis and requirements to ensure the data design is fully understood and the development initiatives are in line with the intended design and standards
  • Ensure testing is conducted in a manner that does not impact the production environment (e.g. scheduling of file transmissions, etc.) and in accordance with established information security and information privacy policies and guidelines

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Proven ability to create test plans and test scripts for software projects
  • Experienced in executing tests and presenting results
  • Ability to work closely with developers and the business to understand how development connects to business requirements
  • Experience with Functional and Performance test tools
  • Experience with issue logging tools and project management tools
  • Ability to lead User Acceptance Testing efforts
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience with Performance Testing is an asset
  • Experience with IBM Planning Analytics and IBM Cognos Analytics is an asset
