Michael Langton, President

Michael Langton is Newcomp Analytics’ President and is responsible for the sales and operations of the company nationwide. His main focus is on building partnerships and assisting clients with Business Analytics solutions that drive real business results. Michael has successfully grown Newcomp Analytics steadily over the past 20 years with his unique blend of technical, sales, and business management skills that have made him the instrumental leader that he is today. His ability to understand clients’ needs and provide effective solutions has made Michael a trusted analytics advisor throughout a variety of industries. Prior to being named President, Michael spent 18 years as Managing Director at Newcomp Analytics, where he devoted his efforts to mentoring and managing Newcomp Analytics’ talented team, as well as expanding the breadth of solutions within Business Analytics that Newcomp Analytics has to offer.

Brian Simpson, Practice Lead

Brian Simpson is responsible for leading multiple Performance Management projects across North America. Brian has a diverse background with IBM Cognos TM1, and has extensive experience with the IBM Cognos Business Intelligence enterprise suite and IBM Cognos Express. His skills and experience include complex project planning and project management, as well as hands-on solution development, testing, deployment and training. Brian is also a former contributor and instructor of the TM1 Blackbelt course, and is well established in the TM1 community and widely regarded as a top-level TM1 guru. Prior to Newcomp Analytics, Brian worked at IBM for 7 years in Quality Control, Lab Services, and Product Management for IBM Cognos TM1 and has travelled around the world helping customers and business partners be successful with IBM Cognos TM1.

Mike Roberts, Practice Lead

Michael Roberts is responsible for business management and professional services leadership and is often engaged by clients to develop modernization roadmaps and to provide solution architectures. These multi-disciplinary engagements often involve aspects of data acquisition, data integration, governance, data lifecycle planning, business intelligence, visual analytics, embedded analytics, advanced analytics, application refactoring, building a centre of excellence, managed service design, security planning or enabling a secure cloud strategy. His skills and experience include engagement management, solution design as well as hands-on development. Michael worked at Newcomp from 1994 until 2012 and re-joined the firm in 2019 after spending 6 years leading the Business Intelligence practice for a large US-focused IBM Business Partner. Michael is currently completing his MSIT in Business Intelligence from Purdue University. His passion is helping companies leverage information technology to find practical, cost effective solutions to modernize and overcome their business challenges.

Chris Foster, Practice Lead-Western Canada

Chris Foster is responsible for business management and professional services leadership for Western Canada and Newcomp Analytics’ open source, data visualization and big data practices nationally. Chris also rolls up his sleeves as an analytics architect, using his hands-on experience to design and deliver analytics implementations. Chris is an experienced analytics coach specializing in data analysis, forecasting, data integration and governance practices. Since 2005, Chris has been leading successful teams in industries including oil & gas, logistics, higher education, retail, financial services and more. Prior to joining Newcomp Analytics, Chris developed his deep technical skills as a senior consultant where he implemented business analytics platforms across dozens of industries and departments.
