This course is for users building dimensions and loading cubes from external sources or involved in requirements gathering/design for a TM1 project

Prerequisites

  • N0PF0 – IBM Planning Analytics/Cognos TM1 Fundamentals or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of your business requirements
  • Experience using the Windows operating system and a Web browser
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel

N0PBP – IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) Administration, Optimization & Additional Features

This module covers additional IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) features and concepts such as object security, picklists, drill-through, and dimension ordering. Students will also learn about logging, monitoring server performance and configuration, and general troubleshooting.

N0PCR – IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) Cube Rules

This module is designed to educate students on the fundamentals of writing TM1 cube rules. Both intra and inter-cube rules are taught along with C-level and String rules. Feeders are also introduced and students will learn how to trace & check both rules and feeders.

N0PF0 – IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) Fundamentals

This module covers the fundamentals of IBM Planning Analytics (TM1), and introduces students to the essential objects, concepts and techniques required to build and maintain models. The class attendees will learn about dimensions, hierarchies, levels, elements, attributes, processes and chores before exploring an existing model. Students will then build multiple dimensions & cubes of their own both manually and programmatically from a variety of data sources and load the cubes with data.

N0PR0 – IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) Reporting

This module introduces several of the front ends of IBM Planning Analytics/Cognos TM1: Architect, Perspectives, and TM1Web. Students will extract data from TM1 Cubes using a variety of tools, and build input templates and reports using the most common techniques: Snapshots, Splices, and Active Forms. This module will also include lots of practice building different types of dimension subsets (static, dynamic, private, hand-coded MDX and user-defined consolidations) and cube views.
