N0BMDM – IBM Cognos Analytics: Building Models with Data Modules

Home / N0BMDM – IBM Cognos Analytics: Building Models with Data Modules

This course teaches data modelers how to create user friendly and secure access to data using Cognos Analytics Data Modules. Students will learn how to identify and select data sources for the data module such as data servers and uploaded personal files. Manual and intent-based modeling will be reviewed, along with ways to identify joins/relationships between data sources. We will create a star schema to simplify usability and user acceptance. Other enhancements such as adding calculations, custom data groups, custom tables, cleansing and formatting columns, relative dates, data-level security, filters, navigation groups, custom grouping and specifying column dependencies will also be covered.

Note: IBM is continuously enhancing the Data Modules feature in IBM Cognos Analytics and has recommended to customers that Data Modules should be the metadata modeling tool of choice. This course helps students learn how to model with IBM Cognos Analytics Data Modules.

This course is currently on v11.1.5. We can deliver this course on previous versions of IBM Cognos Analytics as well; please let us know which version your team is currently using to ensure that training is delivered on the appropriate version.
