0G093G – Advanced Statistical Analysis Using IBM SPSS Statistics

This three day course provides an application-oriented introduction to the advanced statistical methods available in IBM® SPSS® Statistics for data analysts and researchers. Students will review a variety of advanced statistical techniques and discuss situations in which each technique would be used, the assumptions made by each method, how to set up the analysis, as well as how to interpret the results. This includes a broad range of techniques for predicting both continuous and categorical outcomes, as well as methods to cluster cases, create statistical groupings of variables, and find similar cases using a large set of variables. Students will gain an understanding of when and why to use these various techniques as well as how to apply them with confidence and interpret your output.

0G170G – Presenting Data with IBM SPSS Custom Tables

Presenting Data with IBM SPSS Custom Tables is a two day instructor-led classroom course that teaches customers, who are familiar with IBM SPSS Statistics, how to create and edit tables using the IBM SPSS Custom Tables Module. Specifically students will learn how to create several tables by performing cross-tabulations, stacking, layers and nesting of variables within tables. They will also learn how to create tables for variables with shared categories as well as work with multiple response sets and use the statistical techniques available within the module. Finally they will learn how to edit tables using techniques both within and outside of the IBM SPSS Custom Tables Module.

0G406G – IBM SPSS Statistics Syntax I

Syntax is the command language that gives instructions to SPSS Statistics on how to modify, manage, and analyze your data. Syntax programs can be used to automate repetitive tasks and perform additional options that are not available in the dialog boxes. Students will learn the rules of SPSS syntax, how to generate syntax from the dialog boxes, modify and optimize its use. The approach of the course will be that the dialog boxes and syntax are complementary.

0G416G – IBM SPSS Statistics Syntax II

This syntax course focuses on powerful data transformations (only available in syntax – not in the GUI) and on automation. For automation, the two main topical areas are Macros and the Production Facility. The Macro language is discussed in detail, with examples showing how Macros can make your syntax more efficient, more transparent and easier. The discussion of the Production Facility shows how syntax files can be scheduled in the Windows environment (the same applies to other operating systems).
