N0PF0 – IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) Fundamentals

This module covers the fundamentals of IBM Planning Analytics (TM1), and introduces students to the essential objects, concepts and techniques required to build and maintain models. The class attendees will learn about dimensions, hierarchies, levels, elements, attributes, processes and chores before exploring an existing model. Students will then build multiple dimensions & cubes of their own both manually and programmatically from a variety of data sources and load the cubes with data.

N0PR0 – IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) Reporting

This module introduces several of the front ends of IBM Planning Analytics/Cognos TM1: Architect, Perspectives, and TM1Web. Students will extract data from TM1 Cubes using a variety of tools, and build input templates and reports using the most common techniques: Snapshots, Splices, and Active Forms. This module will also include lots of practice building different types of dimension subsets (static, dynamic, private, hand-coded MDX and user-defined consolidations) and cube views.

N0TI0 – IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) Turbo Integrator

This module focuses on IBM Planning Analytics (TM1)’s scripting/ETL engine – Turbo Integrator. Using this tool students will build a planning model from scratch using a variety of data sources, and create processes to perform common maintenance tasks such as creating subsets, loading cubes with external data and maintaining reporting cubes.

P8221G – IBM Cognos Controller: Develop Applications (V10.2./V10.3)

This course teaches application developers how to set up a Controller application and effectively use Controller in their organization’s consolidation process. Students will design and generate financial reports using Controller. Through a series of lectures and hands-on exercises, students will set up a Controller application by creating the necessary structures (such as accounts and companies), and then test the application to ensure that it works properly. Students will also learn how to work with currency translation, allocations, intercompany transactions, investments in subsidiaries, advanced formula calculations, and user-defined business rules, as well as define configuration settings and user access to the application.

P8222G – IBM Cognos Controller: Author Reports (V10.2/V10.3)

This course teaches authors, with basic knowledge of group accounting and Microsoft Excel, how to design and generate financial reports using IBM Cognos Controller. Students will learn how to create ad hoc and standard reports to analyze data. They will also develop custom reports using the Report Generator utility and the Excel Link. In addition, students will learn how to run multiple reports at the same time with report books.

Through a series of lectures and hands-on exercises, students will learn how to create and customize dimensions and cubes, import and link data, and build and maintain applications.

IBM Cognos TM1: Administer the Technical Environment (V10.2) is a two-day, instructor-led course that combines lecture material and interactive practice in installing and administering the Cognos TM1 environment. The course outlines how the architecture can be customized to fit into various infrastructures. Students will learn how to install and configure Cognos TM1, monitor system performance, and secure Cognos TM1 applications.

This three-day, instructor-led course is designed to teach analysts how to use TM1 to analyze data to discover trends and exceptions, create and customize reports and templates, and contribute to plans. Through a series of lectures and hands-on exercises, students will learn how to create analyses and enter data in Microsoft Excel and on the web, create custom views of the data, and build reports and forms in Microsoft Excel that communicate with TM1.

P8259G – IBM Planning Analytics/Cognos TM1: Create Scorecards

IBM Planning Analytics/Cognos TM1: Create Scorecards teaches scorecard developers how to create scorecarding solutions in TM1. Through a series of lectures and hands-on exercises, students will learn how to create all of the necessary scorecarding objects such as metrics cubes, diagrams, and maps, deploy the solution to the Web for end-user consumption, and create an engaging dashboard presentation for the solution.

Please note: This training was developed using IBM Cognos TM1 10.2 but is applicable to both IBM Cognos TM1 v10.2 and IBM Planning Analytics.

P8261G – IBM Planning Analytics/Cognos TM1: Design and Develop Models in Architect

This course is designed to teach modelers how to build a basic cube model in TM1 using the Architect tool. Through a series of lectures and hands-on exercises, students will learn how to set up and verify dimensions, cubes, and views, manually enter data into these structures, and define the data that users can see. Students will also learn how to transfer data into the TM1 model, including the use of TurboIntegrator processes. This course is ideal for users who already have models built with Architect and need a high degree of customization, or whose model complexity has evolved past Performance Modeler capabilities.
